Through our fundraising efforts we give scholarships to local girls and women, sponsor the Math Super Stars math competition with the School Board of Manatee County and other programs. We are involved in many activities that affect in a positive manner education, culture, and societal change in Manatee County. Members include youth, professionals, retirees, business members, clubs and associations, as well as government and non-profit agencies.  128 Ellenton-Parrish Lions Club To assist the visually and hearing impaired in the Ellenton and Parrish area. 100 Manatee County NAACP The Mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Color People is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. 118 Pilot Club of Manatee County The Pilot Club of Manatee County is part of Pilot International. We are a service club raising funds to help children needing hearing aids. We also work with Southeast Guide Dogs and raise funds for a scholarship. We also sponsor the Anchor Club at Manatee High School. Our group meets the 3rd Thursday of the Month for a dinner meeting. They not only gather good people and nice cars together, they also provide good sources of community promotion and a positive image for the Corvette as a national treasure. 144 Heritage Doll Club of Manatee county Educational purposes pertaining to making & collecting dolls. 60 Lakewood Ranch Genealogy Club To enhance personal genealogy work  71 SADRA (Sarasota Area Dirt Riders Association) We are a local club of dirtbike riders; motorcross, hare scrambles, enduro and quad races (ATV's, 4 wheels). We promote safe and responsible riding. Most of our group are also members of FTR (Florida Trail Riders) which is a state wide organization. We sponsor races through our club and also support and attend other club events. We support organizations, scholarships and disabled rider funds. We are currently trying to promote more activity in the Manatee and Sarasota area.  125 Sarasota Knife Collectors Club Bringing knife collectors together from all over Sarasota, Manatee & S.W. Florida. 70 Suncoast Camera Club Our focus is education in digital photography. There are frequent field trips as well as monthly educational speakers on various aspects of digital photography. In addition we have a mentoring program to help those just starting out in photigraphy. There is also the opportunity to participate in club and local photo contests. At the present time we have a ladies social group that meets once a month, usually on a Wednesday evening. 83 Int'l Medical Society-LECOM School of Osteopathic Medicine The LECOM International Medical Society (IMS) was originally founded in Erie, PA in 1998 as a way to promote the mutual understanding of medicine as it exists throughout the world. LECOM Bradenton chartered an International Medical Society in the fall of 2004. The primary goal of the IMS is to expand the medical education of the students by giving them the opportunity to experience the medical profession beyond the borders of the United States. In addition to having an international medical experience, the students also gain knowledge that allows them to serve a diverse population within the United States. Mission Statement: IMS is dedicated to promoting community outreach program opportunities for improving health throughout the world. Our mission is to educate the community and encourage action on global health concerns. We believe these goals can be accomplished by: -Involving and facilitating students with medical professionals experiences abroad -Preserving and improving the health for tho 81 Lakewood Ranch Young Couples Club Young Couples Club is a way for young couples between the ages of 23-35 to socialize. Different events are planned each month such as parties, dinners, bowling, beach, and other local activities. 80 LakewoodRanch/Sarasota Singles Our group gets together twice a month to enable singles in the area to meet each other in a casual atmosphere and make new friends. Most of those in the group range in age from 45 - 75, but any age is very welcome. 74 Manatee County Habitat for Humanity Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is a non profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing for low income families who are residents of the county. Homes are built with mostly volunteer labor provided by individuals, groups, churches and other interested parties. We are currently building at Village of the Palms in Palmetto on Weds. and Sat. 7:30AM to Noon. We help promote innovation by sharing information on patents & intellectual property, prototyping, marketing, and promoting our concepts and inventions.    98 The Manatee Orchid Society Nature / Conservancy To provide opportunities to appreciate the beauty of the many varieties of orchids. To promote wider cultivation, hybridization and the uses of orchids and provideng practical demonstrations. Promote a greater understanding of the ecological requirements of orchis. Provide a forum to disseminate research results and taxanomical thinking and study results. Promote fellowship amoung those interested in orchids. Carry on such activities as may be necessary to accomplish these 5 purposes. 115 MOMS Club of Manatee Parents Thank you for your interest in the MOMS Club of Manatee. We are one of 2000+ chapters of the International MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support), a non-profit organization aimed at providing support and parenting education for stay-at-home mothers. We encourage women to run for political office. 121 East Manatee Republican Club Our club meets at the Peridia Golf and Country Club on the second Thursday each month at 11:30 AM for luncheon and/or breakfast at 9 AM. We introduce all Republican Candidates running for office to speak and then have a Q & A session. Cost of the luncheon is $15.00. We are the only Republican Club in East Manatee. Our mission is to get all Republican Candidates elected. Meeting notices are sent out on email before every meeting to those who have it and mailed to those who do not. Other notable amenities include active children's Sunday School and programs; fitness center open to public, 9-4 MON-SAT; gym. 147 The Empty Nesters of Lakewood Ranch Senior Citizens Who We Are The Empty Nesters of Lakewood Ranch was formed in November 1999 with the goal to have fun, keep active, and love the Florida lifestyle that we all worked so hard to obtain. Today, we have over 150 members and are growing rapidly. We are couples, singles, retired and semi-retired Lakewood Ranch residents who enjoy being with people. We are always planning events and activities which include: guest speakers at our meetings; shows at the Golden Apple, Asolo, Van Wezel and other area theaters; sunset picnics at Siesta Key; adventure trips to the Everglades; adventure outings to our State Parks; Sarasota Bay Cruises; Holiday Parties and many more exciting activities throughout the year. We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Town Hall at 1:00 PM. They are great social get-togethers and activity planning sessions as well as enjoyable potluck luncheons.
